Indonesian researchers have reported in their scientific study that there is a potential treatment to fight the disease caused by novel corona virus. They have introduced hesperidin as one of the compounds found in their red guava along with myricetin, casuarin and luteolin. The tropical fruit is a local citrus that naturally grows in the country. The team is headed by Dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, an internist at the University of Indonesia.
Based on their research, the above-mentioned compounds could reduce the impact of the viral infection or could even prevent the cells from getting infected.
As a way of treatment or supplement, it can be taken in form of a processed juice daily. Or could be produced through a pharmaceutical company for a guava-based drug.
Aside from guava, hesperidin can be found in unripe lemons, lime, ponkan, oranges, calamondin, etc.
People can create this homemade remedy at home as an infused drink or a concoction.
When taken by mouth: Hesperidin is POSSIBLY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth for up to 6 months. There isn't enough information to know if hesperidin is safe when taken for longer than 6 months. Side effects include stomach pain and upset, diarrhea, and headache.
